What’s your favorite type of event to plan, and why?
I love planning intimate dinner parties, putting the focus on the food and how the guests feel at the end of the day, perfect drink pairing that spurs conversations, and an engaging and welcoming space for all personalities.
What’s the most memorable event you’ve ever organized, and what made it special?
My daughter’s first birthday – it was a time of celebration after a tough year of NICU stays and so many unknowns. Getting to year ONE deserved all the attention, We pasted large sized pictures through out the event space that told the story of her first year with her nurses and special NICU milestones, to her first holiday season, meeting grandparents and godparents at home, which brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
What’s your approach to balancing creativity with practicality when planning an event?
It’s all about the client, Who are they? What do they love? How do they want to feel? We start there and then talk about the budget to help them get to that feeling. Everyone is different and translating each person’s personal style into the event is of utmost importance.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Cape Town, South Africa. I have been twice, it has the most beautiful landscape with incredible food and welcoming people, I have fond memories of the city, and it will always be an escape for my family.
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
Watching soccer mornings with crepes and coffee, window shopping in SOHO before an early lunch, back home for dinner with my family, and a whole lot of TV into the night. Sunday is home day – my daughter decides what we get up to at home. Toddler years are fascinating.
Favorite wedding cuisine
Nothing says “this is my wedding” like a personalized menu. A menu that has dishes that get you excited, and drinks that tell your story. Food that takes into consideration your culture, your family and your guests. During my wedding back in 2019, while the venue required that we use their in house catering team, we were able to negotiate the addition of a Nigerian dish which made the experience more personalized.

Are you more drawn to intimate gatherings or large-scale events, and why?
The energy and spectacle of a large-scale event are truly exhilarating. As an ambivert, I thrive in that environment. I can get lost in the positive buzz of the crowd while meticulously ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. But this trait, also allows me to step back and connect with guests, ensuring everyone feels included and enjoys the experience.
How do you stay updated on the latest event trends and industry innovations?
Outside of traveling and firsthand experience, living in a digital era truly helps! There are so many tools and resources that help me keep abreast of current and emerging trends. Social media and networking events help with bridging the gap between vendors and the latest trends. I’m also a bit of tech nerd and a firm believer in “Okay, lets google that”
What’s one unique idea or theme you’ve always wanted to incorporate into an event?
Incorporating an avant-garde dress code into an intimate event. This theme would challenge expectations and spark conversations.
What’s one thing you’re passionate about that always gets you talking
Wine. I’m fascinated by the complexity and the endless food pairings.
What are the top three things that you use in your emergency kit?
Perfume, lipstick/gloss, tide pens.
What is your favorite designer?
Haha, how can a woman pick just one? The list is very dynamic. It could be Cartier today or The Row tomorrow, but I recently watched The New Look and thoroughly appreciated the history lesson on the classics… like Dior.
