What a Design-Led Event Really Means

Plenty of planners will tell you they handle the details. A design-led event starts with how you want your guests to feel, and with using the space well.

Start with the story

Before vendors or floor plans, we ask what the day should feel like. That answer becomes the concept and guides every decision.

Use every corner of the space

At a recent wedding we designed at Villa Corsini in Florence, we treated the whole villa as a series of settings, each with its own mood:

  • The garden became a lavender wonderland for the ceremony.
  • The courtyard became an Italian market, with souvenirs and desserts for guests to wander through.
  • The dining room stayed true to its fresco-lined walls, with a dinner fit for royals.
  • One of the villa rooms turned into an early 2000s inspired club, with burgundy drapery, LED lights and disco balls for the afterparty.

Four spaces, four different experiences, and one cohesive story.

Let the architecture lead

Where a room already has character, such as frescoes or high ceilings, we design around it. Where it does not, we create it.

Every detail belongs

Linens, candlelight, stationery and menus are chosen to work together, so nothing feels random.

Design and planning work as one

The same team holds the vision and runs the plan, so nothing gets lost between idea and day.
